Primanex is known globally through her prestigious magneto-optics (MO) technologies ever since she was established in Fremont, CA, USA in 2000. The best-known MO switches utilizes electromagnetic and Faraday rotating effect to adjust the polarization state of incident light beam, further to change the light beam’s propagation path with the help of birefringent crystals, hence to elegantly realize the switching functionality by involving no-moving parts. It’s exactly due to such feature of “no-moving parts” that MO switches play advantageously in those areas demanding high-speed, high reliability, excellent repeatability and long cycling life etc. Primanex MO switches are found globally in varieties of industries ranging from optics communication, fiber sensing, radar, renewable energies, meteorology, to aviation, space and ocean etc.
On basis of MO technologies, Primanex builds complete set of optical isolators including in-line and free-space isolators, and is the first within China to build the key optical component, Faraday Rotation Mirrors, for the undersea acoustic-wave detection system. As for micro-optics components, Primanex has complete set of optical thin-film filter based WDM products including DWDM, CWDM, E/FWDM etc. Primanex is the first within China to build WDM components by advanced laser-welding technology, and is one of few earliest companies within the industry to work on all-glass packaging technology. Furthermore, Primanex has developed some high-end products known to be “Pearl on the Crown” within passive optical components such as tunable interleaver (based on polarization interference), tunable optical filter (based on optical thin-film filter), and tunable optical dispersion compensation module (based on thermal tuning of silicon etalons) etc.
In area of key optical parts –fiber-optics collimators, Primanex is the first within the industry to build collimator by revolutionary beam-scanning technology. Primanex’s collimators ranging from ones with short working distance for regular 3-port passive components, ones with long working distance for free-space optics based CWDM Mux/DeMux modules, to the ones with ultra-long working distance for WSS etc have been serving customers well across the industries.
Primanex has been serving fiber sensing industry globally since 2004 with her another renowned flagship product –athermal wavelength reference filter. Such filter realizes “zero” wavelength thermal drift by means of pure passive way, hence is perfect for the FBG-based fiber sensing equipment due to its unprecedented thermal stability, low loss, compact footprint and “zero” power consumption. Its sharp /and stable response also provides flexible solution for laser frequency stabilization, Doppler frequency-shift detection etc.
Owning vertically integrated broad products portfolios in the fiber-optics communication and proprietary fundamental optical technologies, Primanex co-developed the revolutionary wind measuring LIDAR -SpiDAR with her Israel partner –Pentalum Technologies since 2010. SpiDAR is designed with the world-pioneering technology of “non-coherent direct detection” and “high-speed laser scanning engine” which involves no-moving parts, and shares the supply chain of fiber-optics communication which is conveniently accessible, mature, robust and more affordable. SpiDAR is the only one within the industry that is no-need to return factory for re-calibration across the lifetime. We believe SpiDAR with its excellent performance /and affordability can help to turn to a new page for the wind power and meteorological industries.
