While preventing and controlling the pandemic, Chinese wind power enterprises are actively resuming work and production. In the expectation of all the peers, as the wind vane for the development of Chinas wind power post-market, “the 7th China Wind Power Post-Market Cooperation and Exchange Conference and 2020 China offshore Wind Power Operation and Maintenance Special Forum” was held in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province under the organization of the Chinese Wind Energy Equipment Association on August 20, 2020.

The meeting was postponed for two months, but that can not dampen the enthusiasm of wind-power workers. The number of participants reached a record high, and the whole venue was full.More than 550 representatives from more than 200 units from government research institutes, wind power developers, complete machine manufacturers, professional operation and maintenance enterprises, testing and certification institutions and scientific research institutions gathered around in Taihu Lake. We had discussed how to seize the opportunity, standardize the market and win-win cooperation. The theme of this conference is "Leading innovation, improving quality and efficiency", representatives had disscussions on subsidies exit, affordable Internet access, assessment on combine the grid, operation and maintenance of wind farm, Iteration of old units, operation of wind farm assets, and smart wind power.

As we all know, on May 2019, the National Development and Reform Commission issued "notice of National Development and Reform Commission on improving electricity pricing policy for wind power supply" (Price of Development and Reform Commission (2019)No. 882), The notice indicates that:

If the onshore wind power projects approved before the end of 2018 have not been completed and connected to the grid by the end of 2020, the state will no longer subsidize them;

If the onshore wind power projects approved from January 1, 2019 to the end of 2020 have not been connected to the grid by the end of 2021, the state will no longer subsidize them.;

Since January 1, 2021, newly approved onshore wind power projects have fully realized affordable access to the Internet, and the state will no longer subsidize them.

For offshore wind power projects approved before the end of 2018, if all units are connected to the grid by the end of 2021, the feed-in electricity price at the time of approval will be implemented.

If all units are connected to the grid in 2022 or later, the guiding price for the year of grid connection will be implemented.

The above provisions will be in effect from 1 July 2019.

From then on, the grid connection time nodes of onshore wind power and offshore wind power have been determined. Due to the limitations of production capacity, grid-connected conditions and construction capacity, a large number of approved projects are about to face the affordale era. Since the second half of 2019, the development of the wind energy industry is facing tremendous pressure and challenges. The pandemic at the end of 2019 has undoubtedly increased the pressure on the development of the wind power industry.

As pointed out in the “China Wind Power Post-Market Development report (2019-2020)”: " It is estimated that by the end of 2022, the cumulative installed capacity of wind power in China will reach 260 million kilowatts, and the capacity of the unit connected to the grid for more than five years will reach 160 million kilowatts, accounting for 66% of the total amount of grid connection. Nearly 20 million kilowatt units a year exceed their warranty. The report also mentioned: " The number of complete machine manufacturers dropped from 43 in 2009 to 29 in 2011. By the end of 2019, there were 17 complete machine manufacturers with output, and the top 10 newly installed complete machine manufacturers accounted for more than 90% of the market share.”
