    Primanex Participated in “China high-tech Expo on Meteorological Modernization 2020”

    2020 is an extraordinary year, with many kinds of disasters and shocks, just like unpredictable weather, people are at a loss. “China high-tech Expo on Meteorological Modernization 2020” postponed to August 19-21 because of the pandemic. The Expo includes the 12th China Meteorological Science and Technology Exhibition in 2020(CMHE 2020) and the 2020 Meteorological observation New Development Forum. Primanex participated in the exhibition.


    Tidbits of the exhibition

    The theme of this Expo is "Exchanging innovative technologies - supporting meteorological modernization". At this new development forum of meteorological observation, Zhao Junzhuang, director of the Comprehensive observation Department of China Meteorological Administration, made a report on "Thoughts on the Development of Meteorological observation Technology and equipment". The report mainly mentions that General Secretary Xi Jinping made important indicators on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the meteorological affair of China, "to ensure precise monitoring, accurate forecast, fine service, and promote the high-quality development of the meteorological affair."Also,Mr. Zhao summarizes the problems and challenges of meteorological observation in China: the technical level of meteorological equipment needs to be further improved, the operational observation equipment needs to be upgraded quickly, the development and application of cooperative observation technology is insufficient, and the assembly spectrum of meteorological observation technology needs to be improved.

    Li Bai, a researcher from the Meteorological Observation Center of China Meteorological Administration, gave a keynote report on "Meteorological Radar Technology Development and New Problems". Li Bai has been engaged in the research of detection radar for a long time. In this report, he summarized the development history of meteorological radar, introduced the core technical principles of meteorological radar, and pointed out the development direction of meteorological radar (such as whole weather process observation, cooperative observation, multi-platform technology, high space-time resolution and more accurate quantitative technology, etc.), points out the main technical problems in the current radar technology, and directly compares the results of radar observations at home and abroad. Also, the gap between Chinas meteorological radar technology and foreign products is clearly pointed out. Moreover, he encouraged our industrial personnel to work hard to solve technical problems and improve the technical level of meteorological observation radar.

    Primanex has been working with Pentalum to develop a new wind lidar Spidar since 2010. This product abandons the traditional Doppler technology, innovatively uses incoherent direct detection technology, and uses a "high-speed laser scanning engine" without any moving parts, which can reuse a laser source at high speed and time-sharing to form multiple scanning lasers in space. The whole system of lidar Spidar is more simple and stable, and the ability to resist the harsh environment has been greatly improved. The lidar Spidar is widely used in wind power generation, meteorological observation and other fields. From May to June 2013, Shanghai Meteorological Information and Technical Support Center carried out two comparative experiments of Spidar and gradient anemometer in Jiading, Shanghai and Xinglongsha, Shanghai. The results show that Spidar has good detection performance in low-level wind field data acquisition.

    From October 2015 to March 2016, Primanex in cooperated with China Meteorological Administration, organized a verification and comparative observation test of Spiedar and the 325-meter meteorological tower of the Atmospheric Institute at the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. The test results showed that the wind speed and wind test are consistent and related.

    In 2016, we attended the first annual conference of the Meteorological Society as an audience. Primanex visited and studied in the spirit of "Strengthening the integration of disciplines and promoting the development of meteorological undertakings". This was a new challenge for Primanex, which started in fibre-optic communications and at the beginning of cross-border wind energy industry. During the conference, we also visited the pavilion and benefited a lot from exchanging and learning with elite enterprises in the industry. In particular, we had extensive and in-depth communication with our participating lidar counterparts to explore the application prospects and challenges of lidar in the meteorological science industry.

    In 2017, we participated in the annual conference of the China Meteorological Society again. During the question and answer session of the conference, Dr. Zhao Qiang, General Manager of Primanex, had a multi-faceted discussion with other experts. The technology and products of Primanex attracted attention between the experts. To this end, the chairman of the meeting specially invited Dr. Zhao to give a keynote speech. Dr. Zhao changed from an audience to a speaker, explaining the core technologies and products of Primanex in detail. The experts and scholars responded enthusiastically, and expressed the hope to hear more voices from enterprises such as Primanex in the annual conference, and invited Primanex to give a special report at next years conference.

    In October 2018, NRG acquired the technology of Pentalums Spidar, while Primanex and NRG signed a contract to assist in the exclusive sale of Spidar products in Greater China region, and be responsible for the technical support services of Spidar.

    This Expo is the first time that Primanex officially participated in the weather exhibition, and it is also the first time that NRG Company made its debut in China meteorological exhibition. Zhao Qiang, General Manager of Primanex, and Xu Jian, head of China Market of NRG Company, jointly attended the exhibition and communicated and discussed with the customers in detail.

    Although the scale of the exhibition affected by the pandemic is not too big, there are about 150 exhibitors, and the flow of people on the first day was quite good. The mask blocked most of the faces, but from the attentive eyes of each visitor, we saw more expectation and persistence. The visitors seem to be afraid of missing any information, recording every information very carefully, and we want to give praise to every colleague who can participate in and support the weather exhibition!

    We had a heated discussion, and we are filled with emotion with the emergence of more and more domestic radar manufacturers. Using the sentence “You cannot know the shape of a mountain when you stand on it” to describe the brave people walking in the field of meteorology, like all those who pursue their dreams, we will take the responsibility and keep on going.





    On-site tidbits of the exhibition

    The weather is not far away, it revolves around every bit of our life. For example, in the weather forecast that everyone pays close attention to every day, we have to predict the weather for nearly a week or even a month; we have to simulate the wind level and path of a typhoon; and even have to assess how much electricity the wind condition here can generate. How can we control and make use of the weather of nature to serve our lives? With these questions, we enter the meeting hall, we find that there are tiny branches that cannot be more detailed. There are those who purify water, detect pollution sources, do anti-flood partition, draw atmospheric cloud imaging system, measure wind, focus on atmospheric aerosol and pollution composition measurement, and so on. They can all be seen here. Also, their display forms can reflect human wisdom and a strong sense of social responsibility, making people realize that every field is so important and cannot be ignored. For example, although our lidar Spidar is mainly used in meteorological wind measurement, what improvements and applications can we make in more and more special environments? This is also the direction that we have to keep digging and working hard. Finally, we would like to share with you with the words "Its a long journey, and I won stop pursuing it."
