Primanex attended the 2020 Xi an Wind Power Annual Conference

Year after year, the wind power industrys grand meeting-- "Annual Meeting of large-scale Wind Energy equipment Industry and Wind Power Industry Development Forum" was solemnly held in Xian, Shanxi from November 26 to November 27, 2020.

Although there are still positive cases of COVID-19 in Tianjin and Shanghai, colleagues from the wind power industry from all over the country still gather in Xian as promised. It demonstrated the strong cohesion of the wind power industry, and there are too many voices that need to be spoken out.

The conference is hosted by CWEEA (Chinese Wind Energy Equipment Association), which has been adhering to the development concept of coordination, green, development, openness, inclusiveness, and sharing. Under the background of the global epidemic outbreak in 2020, CWEEA is still actively promoting the wind power industrys development. The conferences theme is "Industrial collaboration, Integration and Innovation, look forward to the future".

Four hundred fifty representatives from 22 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, including government departments, social organizations, wind power investment developers, equipment manufacturing enterprises, and consulting service agencies, attended the event to discuss the wind power industry under the new situation jointly.

Earlier, President Xi Jinping announced at the General Debate of the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly: "China will scale up its Intended Nationally Determined Contributions by adopting more vigorous policies and measures. We aim to have CO2 emissions peak before 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality before 2060."

At this conference, under the guidance of CWEEA, the "Annual Meeting of large-scale Wind Energy equipment Industry and Wind Power Industry Development Forum" launched the initiative and issued the "China Wind Power Equipment Manufacturing Industry to implement the" 30 ·60 "goal Action Initiative.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Cao Zhigang, president of Xinjiang Goldwind Science Technology Co., Ltd., read out the proposal, and all the delegates enthusiastically applauded and unanimously adopted it.

All the participants revolved around President Xi Jinpings important speech, combined with the conference theme, connecting with the background that wind power is about to enter a parity era. Participants share cases and experiences from collaborative innovation, win-win cooperation, technological renewal, sustainable development, "crisis" and "opportunity" in the parity era of the wind power industry.

After listening to the experts reports and discussions, I benefited a lot and felt a lot.

At this conference, the experts put forward their views on the "30·60" goal. It is agreed that this goal has reassured the wind power colleagues and provided a rock-solid bottom for the sustainable development of the wind power industry.

However, opportunities and challenges often coexist, and success and risks also appear simultaneously.

The landing of the parity policy set off the best part of a new round of land / offshore wind power rush installation, while the uncertainty of pandemic at the beginning of the year further tightened the already tight industrial chain.

The imbalance between supply and demand has led to a rise in the prices of complete machines, key raw materials, core components, as well as construction equipment and services, so that 2020, which is not going well, is almost regarded by wind power-related enterprises as a bumper harvest year!

For a time, 2020 is like golden autumn full of fruit fragrance and bright color.

The advent of the new policy, the gradual emergence of accumulated fear of various uncertainties, the extreme dichotomy of existing orders, and the re-entry of global wind power companies into the Chinese market to compete with local enterprises, and so on, started the frenzy of cutting prices and grabbing orders ahead of time. While the meeting was going on, representatives of all parties were already talking about the early arrival of the "era of buying fans and get tower tubes for free": the tender for bundling the mainframe of Huaneng North inexpensive large base on November 24 already revealed the lowest price of 3100 yuan / KW. It should be pointed out that this price includes tower cylinders and  anchor bolts. A month ago, on October 20, GD Power Developments Inner Mongolia Hangjinqi UHV delivery Base Wind Power Project No. 3 bid revealed 3264 yuan / KW units; while October 21, Sichuan Jinyang three Gorges New Energy Project units and tower drum bidding price of 3759.8 yuan / KW, according to the proposed model and tower tube point of view, the host price may have fallen below 3000 yuan / KW, the highest not more than 3100 yuan / KW. In less than a month, there are two prices of 3100s. The latest 3100 already contains the tower tube and the foundation anchor bolt, which is equivalent to "the tower tube has been given away for nothing"! If the price of tower tube and foundation anchor bolt is deducted, the price of wind power mainframe has reached the threshold of 2600 yuan / KW. In just one month, the cost of wind turbines has plummeted by 16%!

How will Chinas wind power industry reshuffle in the coming 2021? will 2021 be the beginning of a cold winter?

According to the "Beijing Declaration on Wind Energy", Chinas newly installed wind power capacity will reach at least 800 million kilowatts by 2030 and at least 3 billion kilowatts by 2060. In order to achieve "carbon neutral", in the 14th Five-Year Plan, wind power needs to be set in line with the national strategy of carbon neutral development space: ensure that the annual increase in installed capacity of more than 50 gigawatts. After 2025, Chinas annual new installed wind power capacity should be no less than 60 GW. With a span of 3 gigawatts over 40 years, the average new installed capacity must be at least 75 gigawatts per year.

Considering the industrys current situation and future technological progress, it is relatively reasonable to set the target of 50 GW in the 14th Five-Year period. China added 26.785 GW of wind power capacity in 2019 and is expected to add more than 30 GW in 2020, despite the impact of the epidemic on capacity. There is still a big gap between this capability and the 14th Five-Year Plan target, let alone the target of 30.60. The industrial chains overall capacity needs to be significantly increased, and the improvement of this capacity will be carried out without subsidies or support, which will undoubtedly be a considerable challenge.

The long journey starts from a small step. Primanex, as a member of the wind power industry, how to develop together with our colleagues in this background will be a major topic for us in the future. In order to achieve high-quality development and win-win cooperation, we are duty-bound!
